Saskatoon Jane's Walk - A Stroll through the Swale

Description:This is the 3rd Annual Jane's Walk at the Northeast Swale. The Swale is an ancient post-glacial channel scar of the South Saskatchewan River and provides an unique assortment of wetlands and native prairie complexes that is home to a wide array of plants and animals. Join local conservationists from Meewasin, Saskatoon Nature Society, Saskatchewan Light Pollution Abatement Committee, and the Swale Watchers to learn about the ecological value of Swale, the challenges facing the site, and what is being done to enhance the biodiversity of the Swale.

Additional Info: The meeting location is along Range Road 3050 (gravel road) located 500 meters north of the intersection of Fedoruk Road, Agra Road and Range Road 3050. Parking is available in two mowed parking areas on either side of the road. The hike will be along a mowed trail to a ridge where we will climb to view the Swale and the surrounding neighborhoods. Total waking distance will be approximately 2 km.
