Come and listen to Rich talk about the problem of lost fishing equipment, or ghost gear, in the oceans around the world. Rich teaches scuba diving using the Global Underwater Explorers curriculum which is focussed on creating the next generation of exploration and conservation scuba divers. Rich manages the UK Charity “Ghost Fishing UK”, a group of volunteer divers that find and remove deadly ghost fishing gear from the seas around the UK. He will tell you about the problem of ghost fishing gear and it’s impact on marine life, and excite you with stories of how his team work to remove this problem from our seas.
