Matthew is currently co-coordinator of the MOSAiC expedition, a yearlong international observational and modelling initiative in the central Arctic ice pack. He was on leg 1 of the expedition and will share a big picture introduction to the ship, the expedition, and the amazing variety of climate change-related science that's taking place up in the Arctic for the next year. Matt is a research scientist with the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences at the University of Colorado and NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory. Field work has been a major element of this research, including work at numerous Arctic field stations, atop the Greenland Ice Sheet, in mountain environments, and aboard icebreakers in the Arctic sea ice.
