How is fire used in conservation and what does it take to become a fire professional? Kim Steinberger, Restoration Project Manager will share her experience attending a Wildfire Suppression Workshop in Belize. This unique program seeks to develop fire practitioners by providing them on the ground opportunities to practice skills and work on their certification process. It also works to protect habitat near Payne’s Creek National Park, necessary for the survival of the Yellow Headed Parrot, and critical to keeping communities safe and maintaining a healthy pine savannah.
