Meshach was born in Georgetown, Guyana, where he has lived for most of his life. He also lived for 5 years in the British Virgin Islands when he was younger. Meshach completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Guyana in 2014, but has been involved in fieldwork since 2013. He’s worked with a variety of projects in marine, rainforest, savanna, and highland habitats in Guyana and Suriname. These have involved mist-netting birds, transect surveys for frogs and reptiles, camera trapping for jaguars and other large mammals, and most recently social surveys quantifying human-black caiman conflict. Meshach is a recipient of the prestigious Panthera Winston-Cobb grant.
