In the summer of 2020, Dwayne Wohlgemuth hiked the entire 800 kilometres of the Thelon Esker on the tundra of Canada's Northwest Territories. When Dwayne learned about the esker in 2019 and realized how remote and unknown it was, he decided he had to hike it. After many months of planning, he chartered a plane, flew out onto the tundra 350 kilometres from the nearest community, and began a 41-day solo expedition. His goals were to make the esker better known to Canadians, take waypointed photos of the esker along the way, and complete the first ever thru-hike of the esker.
