Alex is a big cat biologist from Kwazulu-Natal, SA. He has researched lions, caracal and leopards across South Africa and Uganda and filmed other big cats across three continents. In 2014 he graduated from the University of Oxford with a Masters degree examining aspects surrounding the hunting of leopards in Africa. Since leaving Oxford he has worked for Steve Winter and National Geographic as a photographic assistant on magazine and television stories describing leopards, jaguars and lions. Alex is currently working towards his PhD at the University of Queensland in Australia, and has just wrapped filming a new National Geographic film on the incredible tree-climbing lions of southwestern Uganda.
