Hosted by: Diversity of Nature

Join us for an evening of learning and drawing with Melanie and Diversity of Nature. We'll each be drawing a self-portrait (or BIPOC scientist!) that we'll each surround with drawings of our favourite organisms from nature! Melanie, with Suchinta and Catilina will be talking about their work, scientific illustration, and guiding us through the drawing activities! Melanie will be highlighting the work of BIPOC participants at the end of the session, so please self-identify to the event moderator or host in the session if you'd like your work shared!Diversity of Nature is an organization that aims to make ecology field experiences more accessible to BIPOC youth. Learn more about their work at: https://www.diversityofnature.com/Ocean Bridge Atlantic participants will find all drawing materials in their Learning Journey kits. Unfortunately, we couldn't provide supplies for participants outside the region. You will need a pencil and some sketching paper, and ideally a black and white conte square (although these aren't essential). If you have chalk pastels and coloured pencils, they could be useful as well!Virtual event link details to come!
