A team of scientists and engineers from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Harvard University will be utilizing AUV Sentry and ROV Jason to study hydrothermal vent sites within the Guaymas Basin. Dr. Anna Michel is an ocean engineer and is the Chief Scientist of the cruise. She'll be joined by engineers who design and operate the deep diving robots.
