Marine mammals undertake some of the most extraordinary migrations on the planet to eat and avoid being eaten. They make behavioral decisions based on the ecology of their prey and predators, all while keeping within the confines of their physiological limits. By attaching electronic instruments to seals, Assistant Professor Roxanne Beltran and her PhD student Allison Payne explore predator-prey interactions in the open ocean, and their implications for ocean health.
