Sandra is a nature feeler and observer. She enjoys doing science experiments in the water and telling stories about nature. As a scientist, she has had the opportunity to do research in six countries on organisms as small as bacteria or mosquitoes and as big as fish and macaws. She is currently doing her PhD at Trent University where she studies the role that fish, mayflies, and mussels play in the cycling of nutrients in streams and lakes. When she is not in the field or in the lab, Sandra enjoys sharing her passion for science and water with diverse audiences, particularly with youth and individuals underrepresented in STEM fields or environmental sciences.
