Exploring by the Seat of Your Pants is teaming up again this year with Parks Canada and the Royal Canadian Geographical Society for a coast to coast to coast virtual road trip to national parks, historical sites and national park reserves! We are helping them live! Across Ontario, many species of turtles are facing population declines due to transforming landscapes that affect their long-term survival. Parks Canada staff at Bruce Peninsula, Georgian Bay Islands and Thousand Islands National Parks work with Indigenous communities, volunteers, academics and scientists to protect turtles and their habitats, including turtle nest protection, eco-passages and eco-fencing, artificial nests, egg incubation and baby turtles releases.
