The Appalachians are so globally important for climate resilience and biodiversity that TNC ranked them with the Brazilian Amazon, the rainforest of Borneo and Kenya’s Serengeti grasslands for focused conservation efforts in the next ten years. The majestic mountain range runs right through northwestern NJ, where TNC is working to protect and connect critical habitat and migratory routes for wildlife.
The Apps also happen to offer some of the best hiking opportunities for people in the region! Our presenter is a New Jersey resident and Appalachians hiking expert, who will share background, photos and anecdotes of his top 5 favorite Apps itineraries, including insights and tips you can use for visiting this local natural treasure.
