We As Nature is a monthly online gathering where we harness the power of personal storytelling to deepen our connections with nature.

About this event

Each month, a different storyteller joins We As Nature and crafts a story detailing the moments, myths, and miracles that led them to recognise that they are within and deeply connected to Earth and all living beings. Not separate, not superior, but within.

As an audience member, you are invited to listen and allow the story to awaken your imagination. Every We As Nature event is shaped to leave you querying what it means to be a natural being embedded within Earthly systems, and empowered to celebrate your own We As Nature story.

This month we’re excited to have one of the best storytellers we know, folksinger, song collector, nature conservationist, and presenter, Sam Lee!

Sam has spent 15 years re-galvanizing the sight, sound, and ecosystem of folk arts in the UK through his projects and live shows. With 3 critically acclaimed albums, his debut receiving a Mercury Music Prize nomination. During this We As Nature event, Sam will detail the path that led him to one of his most unique musical adventures, corresponding with birds.

Emerging from his work with folk songs Indigenous to these lands, Sam’s relationship with a selection of native and migratory species in the British Isles, namely the nightingale, the turtle dove, and the salmon, has been formed through music, pilgrimage, storytelling. It is an intimate connection that we can’t wait to explore with you.
