Event description
Join Forest Therapy Guide Emma Swann and Sensing Nature co-guides Marg and Rose as they take
you on an exploration of your senses through Lysterfield Lake Park. Sensing Nature walks are forest
therapy walks where you can slow down, connect deeply with yourself, a small group, and the
natural world. Walk in silence in the bushland, awaken your senses, and notice who in nature
presents themselves to you. Sensing Nature co-guides will encourage you to use your non-visual
senses to perceive nature. This event is suited to people who are comfortable with moving slowly,
quiet times and slow roaming through nature exploring the creatures around us.
This walk is open to the general public and is designed to suit low vision or blind participants.
The day will conclude with a tea ceremony and lunch at 1:30.
The path is generally flat and narrow and the walk will cover a distance of 1-2kms. There may be
tree roots, and branches to be aware of as well as some roads to cross. We will have volunteer
sighted guides available upon request. Please wear weather appropriate clothing and bring a water
bottle and picnic lunch. Places are limited.
This walk is made possible by the Parks Victoria Volunteer Innovation Fund.
