Gina began her PhD in the Davies Lab in 2020, her research involves the use of new drone technology to identify healthy versus unhealthy Northern Right Whales and establish baselines for future health monitoring. Her past research projects have included growth dynamics of sea urchins in the lab and field, diving and lipid physiology of toothed whales, and age estimation using manatee ear bones. Besides her passion for marine mammals and research, Gina also enjoys playing/coaching volleyball, sketching/painting, and outdoor activities like hiking, SCUBA diving, photography, and rock climbing.
